The multinational, comparative, qualitative study “Solidarity in times of a pandemic” (SolPan, as well as the sister consortium, SolPan+) examines diverse questions regarding the COVID-19 pandemic situation in 9 European and 12 Latin American countries over the course of 2 years. Through in-depth qualitative interviews across 3 time points, we explore matters of solidarity, structural inequality, environmental and health crises, changes in digital practices, the role of citizens in managing the crisis, changes in scientific and policy configurations, the proliferation of contact tracing applications as a policy instrument, and more.
